At Edison High School, you’ll meet…
MORGAN FRIERSON, who, along with her boyfriend and their longtime friends, is at the top of the social heap. Lately, a boy outside their circle has turned his attention to Morgan. She’s intimidated—but also intrigued.
TRENT CAPARELLA, Morgan’s boyfriend. He’s an honor student and an athlete. He’s kind and caring, but he wouldn’t hesitate to put a guy in his place for looking at Morgan the wrong way. And someone just has.
KELLI LARSON, Morgan’s best friend. Kelli has recently distanced herself from Morgan, and her coolness seems to coincide with her breakup with her boyfriend.
STUART “ROTH” ROTHMAN, a tattooed outsider who’s had his share of trouble. Roth is attracted to Morgan but wonders if her attention is something he can win only in his dreams.
LIZA SANDISKI, Roth’s constant companion. She’s a goth girl, an outsider like Roth, and has a longtime crush on him. When he expresses interest in Morgan. Liza is secretly bitter.
At 7:45 a.m. on the day before Thanksgiving break, a bomb goes off at Edison High. Nine people die. Fifteen are critically injured. Twenty-two suffer less severe injuries. And one is blinded.
Those who survive struggle to cope with the loss and destruction. All must find new meaning for their lives.
